Christmas 2007

Our first Christmas at our new house.

2007 Christmas Letter

Happy Holidays 2007! Our family has uprooted again, only this time we have moved just down the road into our brand new house. Three kids proved too much for the little house we were in, so we decided it was time for a bigger place. Not wanting to leave Gloucester County (the “country”), we decided to build a house in a new subdivision that is 20 minutes closer to work. We still own the “northern estate”, but it is on the market, where it is likely to stay for a while.

Bryan started his job at Northrop Grumman Newport News early this year, and was already selected to go through the shipyard’s nuclear test engineering school for a promotion. He is enjoying his time on a normal working schedule, which will come to an end once he graduates from school early next year and starts shift work on the newest aircraft carrier, the USS George H W Bush.

Jennifer has been gallivanting around the globe, first to San Diego for a few weeks to work on the USS Ronald Reagan, and then all the way to Japan in preparation for the first nuclear aircraft carrier to be stationed there. She helped lead Northrop Grumman’s acquisition of another company, and is currently working on a large contract bid to plant an office in the Pacific Northwest. She has also re-started her master’s program through George Washington University and expects to graduate in May 2009.

Brandon started Kindergarten this year, and loves it. He rides the school bus, and found out the hard way that picking on a 5th Grader is not the same as picking on his little brother… He lost his first tooth this fall, and the Tooth Fairy left him an entire dollar! His adult tooth has already grown in, and he has another on the way.

Tyler is in the 3-year old preschool program at daycare. He is not as excited about school as Brandon is, but still manages to have his teachers wrapped around his finger. He keeps himself busy at home getting his older brother in trouble, and teaching his younger brother bad manners.

Nick celebrated his first birthday the day we moved into the new house. He was the messiest of all three kids with his first birthday cake. He’s up and walking, and even participates in his older brothers’ wrestling matches. Still no talking due to the binky, but Mommy & Daddy can settle for a little less noise in the house.

Loki and Maggie have not enjoyed their new home as much as the rest of us. They were exiled to the garage for a few months until the fence was built, and have been banished into the backyard ever since—no Loki hair or Maggie prints inside this house.

We hope you had an eventful year too, and hope the New Year treats you well.
